Bio

“We can’t close our ears and our bodies can’t stop responding.”

Ingrid Buday believes in people and the power of collective action to influence change. After a diverse career  reflecting her broad interests, she now brings her skills and natural energy to reducing noise pollution.

Her experience in Human Resources, designing onboarding programs, as well as her comprehension of data, has positioned her well to forge a path through the complexities of our modern urban soundscape.

Ingrid believes that making good decisions can only come from good data. So she bought her own meter to collect sound levels from her bedroom window and started sharing her data at City Hall from over 100 locations from the GTA and beyond.

Fast forward 3 years and we are now incorporated as a not for profit, have over 1700 members and the support of local councillors.

No More Noise now has collaborations with the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University and is in discussions with ESRI Canada whose software aligns with the students work in geography and mapping.

NMN sound waves are also crossing borders, with alliances formed in the US to facilitate global crowdsourced data collection on the health impacts of noise.

Ingrid is an energetic and empathetic leader whose work has been featured in over 35 interviews across all media.
